Learn more about what inspired Cheryl to create this roombox and how she did the research for it, how she was influenced by Vermeer's colors, and how she added touches from other Vermeer paintings.

Want to know who sculpted the wonderful dolls in the scene? And the important role the pigment-preparation table plays?

Are you curious about how Vermeer's use of perspective gave clues about the layout of his studio?

Wonder how the windows were created? And about the "View of Delft" you see outside them?

This website describes a miniature scene made by Cheryl Miller showing Johannes Vermeer painting "Girl with a Pearl Earring." The scale is 1" to 1'. The overall dimensions of the box are 24" x 14" x 12".

Cheryl commissioned or made everything in the scene (she felt very much like Mrs. Thorne when she created the Thorne Rooms).

Cheryl would like to thank George Burgess, Fern Vasi, and William Kubesh for their assistance; they made it all possible.
